About Us

School of Civil Engineering and Technology

The School of Civil Engineering and Technology (CET) is one of the founding schools of SIIT, being established in 1992. We aim to produce graduates with sufficient breath of fundamental knowledge, while possessing an in-depth understanding of specialized civil engineering fields. This has enabled our graduates to effectively serve in a wide range of key industrial sectors in Thailand where the demands for civil engineers and civil engineering specialists are invariably strong.

Our School offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs featuring 6 major specialized fields: 1) structural engineering; 2) concrete and materials engineering; 3) soil and foundation engineering; 4) water resources engineering; 5) transportation engineering; and 6) construction management. These fields are supervised by our faculty members who are experts in their fields, each with strong track records and is well known nationally and internationally.

Research is also our key strength and it is what we pride ourselves on. Some of the exciting and innovative research areas being carried by our staff and students include:

• Modeling of concrete behavior, Durability evaluation and service life design of concrete structures, High performance concrete, Repair and maintenance of concrete structures
• Computational mechanics, Finite element technology, Structural optimization, Design automation
• Intelligent transportation systems (ITS), Traffic simulation
• Mathematical Modeling for Cross Shore Sediment Transport and Beach Deformation under Regular and Irregular Waves
• Digital engineering applications in construction (including Augmented/Virtual Reality, Building Information Modelling, and 3D Terrestrial Laser Scanning Technology)
• Safety management in construction
